Open Houses During Covid

Open HousesšŸ”in Real Estate are a highly debated topic by both home owners and Real Estate professionals. While they can be viewed as ā€˜old fashionedā€™, there are a number of reasons that Open Houses are a great opportunity for both the Seller and the RealtorĀ®.
ā€¢
Open Houses can be a very effective marketing tool for the sale of a property. Maximum exposure of a property is key; it is extremely important to make sure that your home is available for viewing to all potential Buyers. Furthermore, an Open House provides a pressure-free environment for interested Buyers, especially those who are unsure of how to begin the home buying process. Open Houses are prime opportunities to meet people; whether it be prospective Buyers for the property or future clients for the agent.
ā€¢
We always offer the option of an Open House to our clients (although it is never required)! We also provide the opportunity for virtual Open Houses when physical Open Houses are not permitted, or if our clients ever feel uncomfortable with a high volume of people entering their home.
ā€¢
ā€¢
ā€¢
Open Houses are permitted in regions in level Green (Prevent), Yellow (Protect), and Orange (Restrict) as long as public health and workplace safety measures and restrictions are maintained. The legal limit for an Open House is 50 people indoors, with masks, where physical distancing can be maintained. However, RealtorsĀ® are responsible for ensuring that the total number of individuals attending an Open House must be limited to the number where physical distancing of at least two metres is possible, without exceeding 50 people.
ā€¢
For public health units in levels Red (Control) and Lockdown, Open Houses are NOT permitted.
